Ocean exhibition opens in Xiamen
The "Dream of Blue 2021 · Human and Ocean" International Contemporary Art Exhibition got underway on Nov 14 at the Nordic Contemporary Art Center in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province. It is set to run until Jan 31, 2022, with visitors able to attend in person or online.
The exhibition has invited 25 contemporary artists from Northern Europe, Germany, the Philippines and China to create artwork on the themes of "human and ocean" and "blue development". Works on display include videos, installations, performance art, comprehensive materials, sculptures, paintings, and photographs.

A number of pieces submitted to the National University & Middle School Student 10th Marine Culture Design Contest, as well as some student artwork from two schools in Sweden and Denmark, are also shown at the exhibition.
This art exhibition will also host an art and ocean sharing session, featuring experts and artists in the field of marine environments in Northern Europe gathering online and offline to share their experiences of marine development and art creation.
An ocean science popularization workshop will also be held to promote two-way communication between schools and art museums.
In addition, there will be a special event called "Connecting Xiamen". Teams based in Northern Europe will visit schools and related institutions in Sweden and Denmark to introduce World Ocean Week and ocean cultures in Xiamen through interviews with marine experts, academics and artists in Northern Europe.
