PNLG Annual Forum 2022 takes place in Indonesia's Tangerang
Themed "Strengthening Coastal Resilience towards Sustainable Local Blue Economies", the 2022 PEMSEA Network of Local Governments for Sustainable Coastal Development (PNLG) Annual Forum took place in Tangerang Regency, Indonesia as well as virtually on October 26.

As one of the supporting events for the 2022 World Ocean Week in Xiamen,the 2022 PNLG Forum was hosted by Tangerang Regency, Indonesia, with the considerable assistance of the PNLG Secretariat.
Held both online and offline, this year’s forum was attended by nearly 200 participants from over 30 PNLG members across nine countries. Among them, the offline participants from about 20 members came from Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Timor Leste; while the PNLG Secretariat, and the members from China and Vietnam attended the meeting online.

The meeting reviewed the 2022 accomplishment report, approved the 2023 work plan and budget, briefed the implementation progress of the PNLG Strategic Action Plan (2022-2030), and launched Tangerang Initiative.
Two new members officially joined PNLG at the meeting. Indonesian province of Gorontalo was inducted as a new member local government while the National Ocean Technology Center (NOTC) of the Ministry of Natural Resources, People’s Republic of China as a new associate member. To date,the PNLG has 53 regular members and four associate members.

ICM certificates are awarded to Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia, Guimaras Province, the Philippines, Tangerang Regency, Indonesia, and Da Nang City, Vietnam at the PNLG Annual Forum 2022.[Photo provided to xmicc.org.cn]
Additionally, a recognition ceremony for the Integrated Coastal Management System (ICMS) was organized to award ICM certificates to Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia, Guimaras Province, the Philippines, Tangerang Regency, Indonesia, and Da Nang City, Vietnam.

During the annual forum, a press conference, the technical workshop, and the Partnership Night were also held to present the experience and good practices of integrated coastal management, marine litter management and reduction, and mangrove restoration.
The offline participants also went on a field visit to experience Tangerang Regency's achievements of implementing integrated coastal management.
