Guest speaker: Jiang Zhimeng, director of the Cultural and Historical Committee of the Longhai CPPCC, president of the Longhai Maritime Silk Road Culture Research Association, vice president of the Fujian Folklore Society, researcher of the Chinese Academy of Art, visiting professor of Xiamen University, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association
Southern Fujian has a splendid marine culture. There have been several well-known trading ports, such as Quanzhou Port in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, Yue Port in the Ming Dynasty and Xiamen Port in the Qing Dynasty.
Of these, Yue Port was the only legal port of origin for the Maritime Silk Road in the middle and late Ming Dynasty, which opened the golden age of the Pacific Maritime Silk Road.
Fujian is the most important participant and witness of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, as well as the core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road in the new era. As such, it has an important position in the development of Chinese marine civilization.
At the third open class, Jiang will introduce the culture of Yue Port.
