Workshop on Marine Protected Areas Network in China-ASEAN Countries held in Xiamen
As one of supporting activities of the 2023 World Ocean Week in Xiamen, the Workshop on Marine Protected Areas Network in China-ASEAN Countries was held in Xiamen, east China’s Fujian province on November 10.
The workshop was attended by experts and scholars from China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand, as well as officials and representatives from Ministry of Natural Resources, Third Institute of Oceanography, and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Ocean Development.
Focusing on the theme of management and development of the Marine Protected Areas Network in China-ASEAN Countries, attendees shared their experiences and insights in marine protected areas building and management.
Meanwhile, the Mangrove Ecological Restoration Guidebook was released during the meeting, aiming to enhance international exchange and cooperation in mangrove ecosystem restoration.
The workshop was hosted by Third Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, and co-organized by Xiamen Marine International Cooperation Center and Marine Ecology Professional Committee, Ecological Society of China.
