Marine sci-tech commercialization fair kicks off in Xiamen
The 2023 Xiamen Commercialization Fair for Marine Scientific and Technological Achievements kicked off at Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province on November 10.
Covering an exhibition area of 10,000 square meters, the three-day event sets up four sections to showcase marine biomedicine and products, high-end marine equipment, smart ocean technologies, and the sci-tech achievements of sea-related institutions of higher learning and research institutes.
The commercialization fair attracted around 140 exhibitors from across the country, up 300 percent year-on-year, a new record high in recent years.
At the opening ceremony, Xiamen Xiamen Marine High-tech Industrial Park signed 17 deals with a total intended investment of 6.3 billion yuan ($863.7 million).
It is said that the city of Xiamen has attracted an investment of over 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion) in the marine sector since 2022.
During the exhibition, a series of supporting activities including a release event, project-matchmaking meetings and promotional campaigns will be held.
In addition, marine experts will be present at the exhibition to offer consulting services.
Under the guidance of East China Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Fujian Provincial Department of Ocean and Fisheries, and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Ocean Development, the 2023 Xiamen Commercialization Fair for Marine Scientific and Technological Achievements is organized by the Secretariat of Xiamen Southern Oceanographic Center, co-organized by Xiamen Marine Emerging Industry Innovation Alliance, Xiamen Kingdomway Group Company, and Huaqiao University.
