2023 Seminar on High-Quality Development of Marine Economy opens in Xiamen
The opening ceremony for the 2023 Seminar on High-Quality Development of Marine Economy was held in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province on July 12th.
Thirty senior government officials in ocean-related fields from 26 countries including Brazil, Venezuela and Nigeria will embark on an eight-day exchange and study tour.
Focusing on blue economy cooperation, the seminar will invite experts from Xiamen University and Fujian Institute of Oceanography to deliver a lecture on integrated coastal zone management and marine biotechnology development.
Co-organized by the Xiamen Marine International Cooperation Center, the event will also organize field trips. Participants will visit Wuyuan Bay, Seashine International Seafood Center and Hairun Port, to experience the development of Xiamen marine industry.
“China and Pakistan have a lot of cooperation both in marine industry and port trade. The seminar gives me the opportunity to learn more about innovative technology,”said Muneer Ahmed, an port official from Pakistan.
The 2023 Seminar on High-Quality Development of Marine Economy was jointly hosted by the Innovation Training Base of Global Development Promotion Center and the Office of Xiamen Leading Group for BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center and organized by Fujian Institute of Oceanography.
It is worth mentioning that the seminar is the first off-line event of the innovation training base since it was unveiled in Xiamen in January this year.
Relying on the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center and the Innovation Training Base of Global Development Promotion Center, Xiamen will plan more training programs on industrial Internet and rural revitalization in the future.
