Chinese Maritime Culture Xiamen Forum Held
As one of the supporting activities of the 2022 World Ocean Week, the 2nd Chinese Maritime Culture Xiamen Forum was held at Xiamen University yesterday. With the theme of "Grand Xiamen Bay in the Process of World Marine Civilization", experts and scholars were invited to share their insights not only from international perspective but also closely linking to the development of China's marine civilization, local history of Xiamen as well as southern Fujian.
This forum provided a platform for marine cultural exchanges and achievements display, enhanced the influence of Chinese marine culture and strongly supported the Chinese in spirit, said by an official from Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Ocean Development.
Sub-forum of "Yue-gang Port from the Prospective of Global History" was held in Xiamen for the first time, which demonstrated the continuity and inheritance of the Maritime Silk Road culture between Xiamen Port and Yue-gang Port.
The Blue Book of China’s Maritime Culture Report on the Development of China's Maritime Culture (2022) was released on sub-forum, centering on the review and prospect of China's marine culture construction. The Blue Book is a necessary reference book for marine talents and enthusiasts, as it presents a whole picture of the development and achievements in the contemporary China’s marine culture.
