Wenyao, a large language model jointly developed by CrowdDigital Technology, Xiamen University of Technology and Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group, was launched in November 2024.

Powered by AI technology, Wenyao integrates fragmented marine data into a "marine brain".

One and a half years after its release, Wenyao has achieved multiple breakthroughs in the fields of ship design, equipment operation and maintenance, maritime supervision, and administrative services.

“Over the past two years, Wenyao has been deployed in 80 enterprises, covering five major scenarios: ship design, equipment operation and maintenance, maritime supervision, personnel training, as well as administrative services,”said Wang Zhong, Co-founder and Product Director of CrowdDigital Technology.

Currently, Wenyao is helping offshore farmers reduce losses caused by natural disasters by 30%. In terms of offshore wind power sector, it boosts operation and maintenance efficiency by 60% and cuts labor costs by 40% with integrated 5G+AI solution.

In addition, the model is capable of generating a ship conceptual design within 30 seconds — a task that previously took one month — significantly improving the R&D efficiency of green and intelligent ships.

“Based on the large language model, we are developing new applications such as embodied intelligent underwater robots, and will further improve the closed-loop mechanism of ‘on-campus training + corporate practice + policy subsidies’ to attract high-end talents to engage to the smart marine industries”, added Mr. Wang.
