COMRA launches new branch in Xiamen

The Inaugural Ceremony of the Branch for Deep Sea Biological Resources Protection and Sustainable Utilization, China Ocean Mineral Resources R&D Association (COMRA) was held in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province on November 5.
The branch aims to serve as a platform for collaborative innovation in deep-sea biological resources.
The ceremony was witnessed by representatives from China Ocean Mineral Resources R&D Association, China Deep Ocean Affairs Administration, the Third Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and leading universities, research institutes, and enterprises from across the country.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Zhang Zhanhai, Chairman of COMRA, urged the branch to strengthen scientific research, foster industry-academia collaboration, and contribute to China’s marine development strategy.
