2025 PNLG-PNLC Joint Workshop on Sustainable Coastal Development held in Xiamen

The 2025 PNLG-PNLC Joint Workshop on Sustainable Coastal Development was held in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province from November 6 to 8.
This year's event was attended by over 70 participants including government officials, experts, scholars, and delegates from China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.

The three-day event featured nearly 10 thematic presentations and in-depth discussions, covering a wide range of topics such as marine spatial planning, blue carbon management, ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction, blue citizen community development, sustainable coastal development, and other relevant fields.
As a key implementation of the cooperation agreement between PNLG and PNLC, this workshop has created a platform for collaboration on coastal management in the East Asian Seas region, aiming to further advance blue economy development, foster marine ecological civilization, and strengthen regional blue partnerships.
The workshop was jointly hosted by PEMSEA Network of Local Governments (PNLG) and PEMSEA Network of Learning Centers (PNLC), and organized by Coastal and Ocean Management Institute (COMI), Xiamen University and Xiamen International Training Center for Coastal Sustainable Development.
