The 2024 PNLG-PNLC Joint Leaning Forum was held in Xiamen, east China's Fujian province on November 7, 2024.

This year's forum was attended by nearly 100 participants including experts, scholars, and delegates from PNLG and PNLC members in Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, RO Korea, Timor-Leste, and Viet Nam.

Prof. Cai Feng, Director General of Third Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources of China delivered a keynote speech titled "Beach Protection and Nourishment Enhancing Coastal Resilience".

Representatives from PNLG and PNLC members also shared their experiences in marine ecosystem restoration, enhancement of climate resilience, sustainable protection of coastal ecosystems, mangrove conservation and climate change adaptation, and more.

At the panel discussion, participating guests shared their opinions on the mechanisms and opportunities to enhance PNLG-PNLC networking, in terms of capacity building, knowledge management, and joint planning and more.  

As one of the side events of the 2024 East Asian Seas Congress and World Ocean Week in Xiamen, the 2024 PNLG-PNLC Joint Leaning Forum aims to create a platform for members of both networks to exchange information and share experience.

The 2024 PNLG-PNLC Joint Leaning Forum was hosted by PEMSEA, PNLG and PNLC, and jointly organized by PEMSEA Resource Facility, PNLG Secretariat, PNLC Secretariat, Coastal and Ocean Management Institute (COMI) of Xiamen University and Center for Coastal and Marine Resources Studies of IPB University.
