International Digital Twins of the Ocean Summit 2023 to be held in Xiamen on Nov 9-12
As one of major supporting activities of the World Ocean Week in Xiamen 2023, the International Digital Twins of the Ocean Summit 2023 is scheduled to take place in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province on November 9-12.
At the summit, renowned experts and scholars across the world will be invited to give keynote speeches on perception, simulation and visualization of marine information. Meanwhile, a series of seminars, training classes and parallel sessions will be held in conjunction with the summit.
Accordingly, this year’s summit will consist of interconnected sessions covering: advancing DTO (Digital Twins of the Ocean) architectures and interoperability; innovation of the predictive engines taking advantage of AI and ML opportunities; sharing, visualising and accessing DTO information; showcasing the power of existing DTOs.
Endorsed by the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030), the Digital Twin of the Ocean (DITTO) programme was launched in 2021. The vision of the DITTO Programme is to build a world where Digital Twins of the Ocean (DTO) are used to support ocean protection, ocean governance, and a sustainable Blue Economy.
It is noted that the first International DITTO Summit was held in 2022 in London, attracting participation of nearly 500 experts and scholars from 18 countries both online and offline.
The 2023 summit is hosted by Digital Twin of the Ocean (DITTO) programme, and jointly organized by Fujian Ocean Innovation Center and the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science (Xiamen University).
